About Me and This Website

My name is James Brown. I am from Canada but have been living in China since 2005. I created this website to share useful tips for anyone living in China, planning to move to China, travelling in China, or planning to travel in China.

One of the things that I hate the most about living in China is the speed and quality of the internet, especially for international connections. Of course you can get past the “great firewall” with a VPN, but most of them are slow and unreliable in China.

I have spent a considerable amount of time finding the best VPNs for China and tips on how use them. You can find all of my latest VPN testing and advanced VPN tips on the 2019 VPN in China blog page.
